Power of attorney translation in Dubai

Powers of attorney, translated for the Notary Public and UAE authorities

A power of attorney is only useful if the authority receiving it accepts it. In the UAE, a power of attorney used before the Notary Public, the courts, the Land Department or a bank has to be in Arabic or prepared bilingually, and one issued abroad needs attestation and a certified Arabic translation before it can be used here.

Mundo is a legal translation office approved by the UAE Ministry of Justice. Powers of attorney are translated by Ahmed Muhammad Sabar, a legal translator registered with the Ministry of Justice since 2008 (registration no. 302), and every translation carries the Ministry of Justice stamp.

A power of attorney issued abroad, for use in the UAE

A power of attorney signed outside the UAE is normally notarised in the country where it was signed, attested by that country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the UAE embassy there, and then attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs once it arrives. The certified Arabic translation comes last, because it has to reproduce the stamps on the document. We tell you the route before you start and handle the UAE stages. See our document attestation page.

A UAE power of attorney, for use abroad

The chain runs the other way: the power of attorney is notarised in the UAE, attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then by the embassy of the country where it will be used. If that country needs it in its own language, we prepare the certified translation as part of the same job.

Bilingual powers of attorney for the Notary Public

For a power of attorney signed before the Notary Public in Dubai, we can prepare a bilingual Arabic and English layout so you and the notary read the same text side by side. Names are written exactly as they appear in the passport or Emirates ID, so send us a copy of the ID of every person named in the document.

How it works

  1. Send us the document. A clear photograph or scan on WhatsApp or by email is enough to start.
  2. Tell us where it is going. The receiving authority decides whether attestation is also needed.
  3. We confirm the cost and the delivery date. A fixed quote and a realistic date before anything begins.
  4. We translate, review and stamp. Names, numbers and dates are checked against the original.
  5. You collect, or we send it. The stamped translation is ready to submit.

Frequently asked questions

Will the Notary Public accept your translation?

Yes. Our translations are made by a legal translator licensed by the UAE Ministry of Justice and carry the Ministry of Justice stamp, which is what the Notary Public, the courts and government departments ask for.

My power of attorney was signed abroad. What do I need?

Usually notarisation and attestation in the country where it was signed, attestation by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and then a certified Arabic translation. Send us the document and tell us where you will use it, and we confirm the exact route.

How do you spell the names?

Exactly as they appear in the passport or Emirates ID. Send us a copy of the ID of every person named in the power of attorney so the spelling matches the official records.

Can you translate a revocation of a power of attorney?

Yes. A revocation is translated and certified in the same way as the original power of attorney.

How long does it take?

A standard power of attorney is short and can usually be translated the same day. If attestation is also needed, we confirm the full timeline before you start.
